Oral Skills Coaching

Designed for the busy yet self-disciplined professional, the distance learning tutorial allows you to learn the skills in the comfort of your own home and receive individualized assistance from an oral communication specialist. You will watch the Phrase by Phrase DVDs, observe models of clear American speech, follow weekly assignments, and receive detailed instruction on how to pronounce English sounds, phrases, and connected speech accurately.

After practicing with the DVDs and CDs and doing the exercises in the textbook and online, you will send your weekly spoken English recording by email attachment. In email and sound files, your accent coach will give explicit instructions on how to modify your accent and improve your oral skills. At your scheduled biweekly tutorial time, you will receive personal coaching using Skype or web conference technology. The professor will analyze your oral assignment, provide detailed comments on your strengths and weaknesses, and give specific suggestions for improvement.
